Adult Education

This half-day course provides an opportunity for growth and learning those who educate adults. If you are new to your Community Instructor role, use this opportunity to learn from more experienced peers. If you are a seasoned Instructor, continue to strive for excellence for yourself, learn new educational tools and make yourself available to mentor new instructors.

The goal of this course is to improve the quality of education for our long-term care community thus improved care for the populations they serve.

Learning objectives include:

  1. Understand adult education theory.

  2.  Improve your ability to serve as a facilitator of learning.

  3.  Recognize and appreciate diversity among adult learners to improve instruction techniques.

Course is 4 hours long and is mandatory to become a WA State DSHS Community Instructor. Credits can be used towards Continuing Education.

This course is WA DSHS approved for credit.

This course will be taught online via Zoom. There is no examination with this class. Certificate of completion will be emailed to you following completion of the class.   A Zoom confirmation link will be sent to you via email prior to the day of class.

 

Must pick up book and be prepared to do a presentation the day of class. Class participation is required.
